Let me begin with reintegrating how refreshing author Jason Luke’s past books have been. For Jason to write such successful books and infiltrate such a world dominated by female authors, is in itself an amazing feat. I was lucky enough to read and review Jason’s previous books Interview with a Master and Vignettes of a Master as well as hosting one of his live Facebook writing tours while assisting with a friend’s blog. (Seductive Romance Reviews-check it out and give it a like if you haven’t already). I find Jason’s writing to be insightful, informative, and innovative for a male author. I also feel that Jason’s book should be required reading for the male population.
With all that being said, I once again immensely enjoyed Jason’s third book, In Love with a Master. This book picks up where Interview with a Master ended; the fallout where Leticia has completed her interview with Jonah and revealed that she has fallen in love with him, Jonah in turn revealing that he cannot have a relationship with Leticia because he is dying from an inoperative brain tumor. Jonah falls into a drinking depression but a sudden unforeseen event has him examining his life and happiness. Jonah convinces Leticia that he wants to try having a relationship her but is asking for her full attention for 3 months; no distractions, no work for Leticia. Leticia’s editor agrees to grant her leave if she can convince Jonah to let her interview him for three additional articles. Jonah eager to have Leticia all to himself, reluctantly agrees, and once again, we the readers, are bestowed with his knowledge of women. Jonah and Leticia’s relationship becomes physical with Jonah training Leticia to be his submissive but an unexpected turn of events at a doctor’s appointment has Jonah reconsidering his blossoming “relationship” with Leticia.
I felt that Jason’s writing was flawless. He had me falling in love all-over again with Jonah Noble and Leticia. As I was reading I was sucked into their world and their relationship. I will add that there was a completely, unexpected development in the book. After finishing the book, I had a book hang-over; I was speechless and with my smart, sarcastic mouth, that is pretty hard to do. Let’s just say if I suddenly meet Jason Luke in a dark alley, I am not sure if I could control my actions. Jason Luke is a brilliant writer and a fucking genius with a little dash of twistedness (I am not even sure that is a word). I was thrilled to receive an ARC as well as privileged to review the book. I can honestly say that I truly enjoyed In Love with a Master and I am looking forward to what the mind of Jason Luke will bring us in the future.
Jason Luke is an Australian author who began writing in September 2013 at the suggestion of his longtime girlfriend. 'Interview with a Master' is Jason's first erotic BDSM novel.
Jason Luke enjoyed several years involved in the BDSM lifestyle - but he is quick to point out that his experiences don't qualify him as an expert; any more than knowing how to drive a car makes him a qualified mechanic. 'Interview with a Master' is a novel about how one man became a Master. The book is a work of fiction, but Jason has drawn heavily on encounters from his own real life. He won't say which parts of the book are fictionalised, and which parts are auto-biographical.
Before taking up writing, Jason worked 6 days a week, 12 hours a day running a variety of retail businesses.
He has lived in Sydney all his life.
His favourite bands are U2 and INXS.
