The Brightest Sunset leaves off right where The Darkest Sunrise ended. In book 2 of the series, Charlotte is dealing with the realization that her son Lucas has been found after missing for the last 10 years as well as the fact that he turned-up as being her current boyfriend, Porter's son Travis. As both Charlotte andt- Porter are trying to deal with things the best they can. No one except Charlotte believes that Porter knew nothing of his son's abduction while he was married to his first wife. Travis is forced to go stay with his mom Charlotte who is an absolute stranger to him and Brady, the biological father of Travis just continues to be a big fact jerk to everyone. Upset that Travis is so upset about not being to see Porter, Charlotte reaches out to him one night and thus begins the reconciliation of their relationship before finding out the truth about Lucas's/Travis's abduction. The through in problems with both their loved-ones not trusting the other and Travis's medical problems reaching a critical point, Porter and Charlotte must come together and become a family.
Of course I loved this book; it's Aly Martinez for crying out load. She once again delivers with a gut-wrenching, heart-felt story that is sure to suck in right from the first book. You must have read The Darkest Sunrise before reading The Brightest Sunset to understand everything that is happening in book 2.
