Special Operator Declan Smith was a dedicated U.S. Navy SEAL, a known player, and daredevil who loved pushing the limits. But on his last mission, an IED leaves him injured and angry as hell—and it changes everything.
When a loud crash disturbs his neighbor, Maura Maxwell, she assumes the sailor next door is up to his usual bad behavior. But the man she finds covered in glass is far from the cocky ladies' man she'd grown to tolerate. Lying before her is a man fighting to rediscover his place in the world—and he can't do it alone.
A SEAL Forever by Anne Elizabeth is the third book of the West Coast Navy SEALs by author Anne Elizabeth. It can be read as a stand-alone as I did (and I was not confused with story lines and characters from the previous books).
Declan Smith is a Navy Seal and ultra-hot known bachelor. His neighbor, Maura Maxwell has see her fair share of women leaving his apartment. She too admires Declan but from afar as she has never spoken to him. One day, Maura finds herself in need of Declan’s help and she finds herself panicking in the water. The man who saves Maura that day is completely opposite of what she expected from the lady’s man. They soon begin to form a friendship that slowly builds into more. Declan is called away on a mission and comes back a changed man. Maura helps Declan to over-come his obstacles in his new life and their relationship blooms into love.
A SEAL Forever was a good book. Declan is a hot, alpha-male and on top of that; a Navy SEAL. The book was well-written. A SEAL Forever’s story line is militarily accurate and realistic. It wasn’t one of those books you enjoy but know in real-life, could never happen. I loved Maura’s character. Even though she had had some rough times in her life, she had come back and was stronger than ever. She was secure in herself and ready to fight for her man if needed. I really like this book. If you are a lover of military or Navy Seal story lines, you should defiantly read Ms. Elizabeth’s book.
