I couldn’t wait to read Unrestricted after reading Kimberely Braooc’s first novel Inhibitions that ended in the big cliffhanger. I was so mad at Tanner after what he did to Ashley at the end of that first book, I couldn’t wait to see where their characters went and if Ashley and Tanner’s relationship could survive. Ms. Braooc did not disappoint. Unrestricted was one big emotional journey. I couldn’t put this book down-it was that good!
Since Tanner has turned his back on Ashley, she starts to prepare for the arrival of her baby on her own. She relies on her friends as well as make a new friend in Tyler. Ashley finds herself working at a sports bar to try and save-up as much money as possible. Tanner continues on being a star quarter-back for the Jets, enjoying the good fortune of making it to the Super Bowl. Tanner has finally gotten used to the idea of Ashley’s pregnancy with a little “help” from his parents, a couple of teammates, and Tyler. He decides to go and see Ashley to try and apologize to her but Ashely is having none of it. She feels that he made his choice calling her a gold-digging whore. Melissa is still running around pining for Tanner unbeknownst to him and even pays Ashley a little visit. Then came a complete SHOCKER but unfortunately, I am not going to tell you what that is as I think if would completely ruin the book. I will say that on more than one occasion from the point on out from the end of the book, I was crying for the characters and praying that Tanner and Ashley would eventually find their ways back to each other.
Unrestricted is such an emotional journey. If you haven’t read this series, I implore you to first read Inhibitions and then Unrestricted. I will even go on to say, that I think the second book, Unrestricted is better than the first book. Ms. Braooc wrote this book so well, I felt I was living the book right along with the characters feeling their emotions. It was believable and raw; an outstanding second book.
