Sinful Desires # I
Piper’s 5 year class reunion is quickly approaching and her best friend convinces her to return to Philly to attend it. Since high school, Piper has moved to Las Vegas to follow her dream of becoming a professional dancer; little did she know at the time, she would end up as an erotic dancer just to survive. At the reunion, Piper hooks up with her high school crush, Reed which in turn leads to a series of events in continuation of the series.
Through Part I, we are introduced to Piper and begin to learn about her life; what has happened to her in her past, how she ended-up where she is at, etc. Part I sets the stage for the readers to become invested in Piper’s story and left wanting for more before concluding the first part. This short story is well written and developed.
Sinful Desires # 2
Piper has returned from her reunion with very fond memories of her time with Reed that was cut short due to returning to real life. Piper is back in Vegas erotically dancing to support herself. Her roommate has an opportunity for Piper to make some additional money; dance at a private bachelor party. Imagine Piper’s surprise when that bachelor just happens to be Reed. Reed later rescues Piper from an over-eager groom’s man and claims her as his but only wants her as his mistress. Piper finds herself invited as the best man, Brock’s, date to Reed’s wedding. Does Piper choose Reed or Brock? Part #2 forms the love triangle between Piper, Reed, and Brock.
Piper’s story continues…now brining into the mix Brock. Piper was upset and hurt that Reed was planning on to continue with his marriage with her on the side; she had thought they really had a connection. She decides to attend Reed’s wedding but more to try to hurt him the way that she has been hurt. But, she finds herself starting to like Brock; Brock even knows the history between her and Reed. Piper decides to take a step back from Reed to see where things develop with Brock even thought her best-friend has tried to warn her that there is a darker side to Brock than what Piper is seeing now.
Sinful Desires # 3
Piper and Brock’s relationship develops more in part 3. Even though their relationship began with Piper somewhat using Brock to get back at Reed, both Piper and Brock are making an honest effort to try and develop their relationship to see where it goes. Brock flies out to Las Vegas to see Piper and bring his friend Julien along. Julien also comes from money and a wealthy family but is not your traditional snob. He has decided to not live his life his parents’ life but choosing to become his own person not influenced by the almighty dollar. Brock also asks Piper to move back to Philadelphia.
Piper also begins to see the “true” Brock; the one her best-friend has warned her about. Brock because mean when he is drunk; a side Piper has never seen. As Julien and Piper deal with a very drunk Brock, then begin to talk and find that they enjoy each other’s company. Piper invites both men to her house for dinner. Things begin to change when Piper overhears Brock telling the true story of what happened the night of Reed’s bachelor party. Julien decks Brock and Piper kicks him to the curb. Lastly, Reed shows up to present Piper with a little gift that could change her whole life.
Sinful Desires # 4
Although Piper’s relationship with Brock doesn’t work out, Piper decides to take the dance scholarship that Reed set, move back to Philly and begin schooling at a prestigious dance academy. Once she moves, Julien helps her find a part-time job and an apartment. Piper and Julien’s friendship blooms while they spend time working on Piper’s apartment or just hanging out and talking. Piper even meets Julien’s family when she attends a function with Julien (just as friends) that he supports. Julien shows-up at Piper’s apartment looking for her support and comfort after his father dies unexpectedly from a heart attack. One thing lead to another and Piper finds herself sleeping with Julien. At the end of # 4 guess who shows up at Piper’s door? Reed announcing that he had cannot live with his business partner-marriage and he wants Piper. Piper tells him that she has to think about it. Once Reed has left, Julien quickly makes his exit.
Sinful Desires # 5
Now that Piper and Julien have slept together things between them get awkward. At Julien’s dad’s funeral Reed corners Pipers and gets to agree to meet him for dinner so they can discuss the future of their relationship. As Piper agrees, she thinks that she catches a glimpse of Julien passing by but can’t be sure. Piper tries to reach out and contact Julien through calls and texts; all go without an answer.
The day for Pipers’ dinner with Reed arrives. Piper bravely tells Reed that they can’t have a relationship; he had just been her teenage dream and she was in love with someone else. After dinner, Piper swings by Julien’s apartment to tell him how she feels. When Julien answers the door fresh from a shower, Piper sees a women with a towel around her. Hurt and confused, Piper takes off. Julien finally catches Piper is able to share his feels (which are the same as Pipers) and the two end-up together.
Sinful Desires I-V was a fast-paced interesting story. There was a little bit of everything-love, friendship, teenage dreams coming true, lies, which all made for a spectacular love triangle. The books were well-written and had interesting characters that came alive with Ms. Parker’s writing. Each book is approximately 100 pages which I read the entire series over an afternoon. This series needs to be read in order and is an added bonus if you are able to read them all at one time. I enjoyed this series as I have enjoyed Ms. Parker’s other books. I would give this series 5 stars and recommend that it be a must-read on anyone’s list.
