In Only One Forever, Dylan and Alex don't have many childhood memories that don't involve each other. They grew up and were raised together; Dylan was adopted making him and Alex step-cousins (sort-of?). As adults, they are each other's besties, until Alex starts to feel more than friendship toward Dylan and decides to clear across the country to Texas where she will start her new job working for one of her former playing hockey uncles. Dylan has felt lost in Canada playing and when the season ends without a trip to the finals, he finds himself thinking about his future playing hockey and missing his best friend. Taking some time to think, Dylan decides to visit Alex in Texas but once he gets there, he senses things have changed between him and Alex as she has begun to pull away. When Alex runs from Dylan, he knows what he must do to make things right.
Natasha Madison is one of the queens of hockey novels and has proven herself once again. Although Dylan's and Alex's relationship isn't your traditional romance, Natasha does an excellent job not making it awkward but a beautiful relationship with two people that truly love and care about each other.
When her nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...
