The Night Blossoms was an intricate mystery thriller. The story is told in the present but flashes back to the past to when one of the main characters, Rafael, was a little boy. When Rafael goes missing suddenly, his wife Vee is at a loss as to where he is. What starts out as him being upset with Vee and leaving the house turns into a weeks-long investigation into Vee's and Rafael's lives. In the flashbacks, the reader finds out many details and events that have shaped Rafael into who he is today. The reader also is introduced to the important women that have been in Rafael's life. The Night Blossoms is a tale of love and loss. This book was hard for me to get into at first. When I was about 30% of the way in, I decided I was done. I was so confused with the flashbacks and what was going on in the present I had no desire to even read but I decided to forge on. It really did get better. Storylines started connecting, details emerged and the story really picked up. I was really glad that I did continue reading The Night Blossoms as it did turn into a great suspense story and I really liked seeing how everything I had read all came together in the end. The ending was really amazing
