My stomach does a flip-flop as our server moves on to another table and the hot guy slides across the bench seat and rises. He’s tall, must be over six feet, and lean. Broad shoulders that taper down to a narrow waist. I glance at his feet and notice his scuffed running shoes.
He rolls his shoulders back and crosses over to our table. He nods to my sisters, but doesn’t really look at them, his eyes on me. Now that he’s right in front of me, I notice they’re a deep mossy-green color, reminding me of a Colorado forest. “Hi.” A slow smile forms as his gaze moves over my face.
I feel it like a gentle caress and heat travels through my veins. It’s an unexpected reaction, so my own “hi” comes out rather breathily. “Thank you for the drinks and the food. You really didn’t need to do that.”
His grin widens, showing off perfectly straight, white teeth. “Well, I wanted to make a good impression, and have an excuse to come over and talk to you.”
Harley squeezes my leg under the table. I don’t risk looking at her because I’m sure she’s smiling like a loon.
“You certainly did that. Make a good impression, I mean.” Why am I so awkward right now? And why does it feel like this man is sucking all the oxygen out of the room and turning my brain cells into mush?
That gets me another smile. “I wanted to apologize if it seemed like I was staring. I hope I haven’t made you uncomfortable.”
I touch my fingers to my lips and resist the urge to play with my hair, but just barely. Why does this man make me feel like a starry-eyed high school girl? “You haven’t made me uncomfortable.”
“Good. That’s very good.” His tongue drags across his bottom lip. “I just needed to tell you that from across the room, you were beyond stunning, but up close.” He lets out a low whistle. “You are an absolute work of art.”
I fight with my eyebrows not to rise. This guy has all the lines. “Oh, really?” I lace my fingers together and set my chin on them. “The kind of art you might hang in your living room?”
“Bedroom, actually.”
I laugh. I can’t decide if this guy is too smooth for his own good. Or mine. I have to wonder how many times he’s dropped these lines on other women and they’ve ended up in his bed as a result.
“That sound is music to my ears,” he says, his white-toothed smile still in place. “I knew I’d be kicking myself if I didn’t come over here and at least say hello.” He slides a small piece of paper across the table, roughly the size of a business card. “I’m going to leave my number, and maybe if you’re interested, I can take you out for a drink, or dinner, or a hot air balloon ride.”
I can see exactly where this will go if I take that card from him. And while getting into bed with a random, attractive man might be fun, I know it’s not the right thing for me. Before I can really consider what I’m doing, or fully absorb the last part, I put a hand out to stop him. “I’m very flattered, but I have to be honest with you. I won’t call you. I have a boyfriend.” The lie tastes sour on my tongue. Although, had it been three days earlier, it would have been the truth.
Avery does some kind of cough-choke thing, and I kick her under the table and get Harley on the back swing.
His smile falters for a moment, but he doesn’t break eye contact. “That’s disappointing, but unsurprising. I didn’t see a ring, so I’d hoped maybe luck was on my side.” He tips his head to the side. “Is it serious?”
“Pardon me?”
“You and this boyfriend, are you two serious?”
This guy is unbelievable. “And if we are?”
“Hmm.” He withdraws his hand and slips the paper in his pocket. “I’d hate for karma to pass judgment on me and get in the way of our future together, so I’m just going to hope I run into you again when you’re single. Have a lovely night, ladies.” He nods to my sisters and gives me one final lingering glance before he winks. “Thank you for existing.”
And then he walks away.

MY 5 STAR REVIEW

"I'm just going to hope to run into you again when you're single". London first meets Jackson out on a girl's night with her sisters. At the time, she has just broken up with her boyfriend so she shoots down Jackson when he comes over to their table to talk to her. Fast-forward three months later when Spark House is offered a chance to connect with more sponsors. When presenting at the meeting, guess who walks in all clean-shave, looking extra-hot in a custom-made suit-Jackson. Come to find-out Jackson is an owner of the company helping to get Spark House sponsors and he is still interested in London but now, since they are working together, he must keep things strictly professional at least until the big charity ball at Spark House is over. Both Jackson and London find themselves drawn to each other and have a hard time keeping their hands to themselves. But when some details Jackson omitted about his life threaten to end their relationship, London must make a decision to cut her losses or give Jackson another chance.
Starry-Eyed Love was the perfect romance story. I really liked London's character and found myself caught up in her and Jackson's story. There were a couple of scenes that I was really broke up about and was pulling for Jackson's and London's relationship. I also liked that London had such a commitment to her job and Spark House. She worked really hard to support the family business as well as with her relationship with her sisters. Overall, excellent story. I even liked it better than Avery's book, When Sparks Fly.

Spending the night in jail isn’t exactly how I planned to spend Christmas, but I’ve had worse holidays…

The youth hockey league is a hell I didn’t plan on and the worst penalty possible…

I’m the best defenseman in professional hockey, but I didn’t see her coming… now what in the hell do I do? I’m not equipped for a relationship. I’m definitely not ready to have a kid depending on me, but I can’t deny she makes me feel things— want things I never imagined I could have.

I have always enjoyed Stacey's books, especially her hockey-themed books and Rule Breaker and I fell in love with Rule Breaker and the Viper's bad boy Dom. Must Dom must serve community service he finds himself enjoying coaching youth hockey. He takes a special liking to Ben who Dom has noticed has a dad who is pretty rough on him, affecting his confidence. What Dom didn't count on was meeting Ben's mother Holly and wanting to spend time with the single mom outside of youth hockey.

Dom is the bad boy, loaner of the team but when as the Viper's season progresses and he starts spending time and talking to Holly, he begins to soften up and show everyone a completely different side to what everyone has come to expect. I loved reading the changes that Dom went through during the book and seeing his relationship develop with Holly and how that also changed him. By the end of the book, I couldn't help falling in love with him a little myself.

​n Kiss and Fake Up, Heather's and Campbell's friends set them up on a date. They have know each other for a while from their best-friends and by the 3rd or 4th date, Heather gets the feeling that they could be amazing together until Campbell's playboy ways derail her plan. Fast-forward to a little later in their lives and the two end-up (with other friends) staying in the Hamptons for the summer. Heather is spending all summer their to heal from her previous relationship. Finally Heather forgives Campbell and the two begin a fragile friendship. As the two start spending time together they develop a friendship and begins to form into more but something from Heather's past threatens their new beginning.
Kiss and Fake Up is the first book that I have read by Carrie Aarons and based on reading it, I can tell that the other couples in this book all have their stories too but It didn't make me feel like I didn't know what was going on sometimes the way other books can. I enjoyed reading Heather's and Campbell's story and I really liked how they formed a strong friendship over the summer. Campbell just sounds dreamy and I also thought it was awesome that Heather was a strong, independent woman on her own.

It’s the medic from earlier, the curvy one with the long-ass black hair. I’m closer, this time, and up close, she’s even more stunning. Her face is perfectly symmetrical, her eyes huge and brown, her lashes thick, lips plump and in a naturally perfect cupid’s bow. “I DON’T GIVE A FUCK, YOU DUMB BITCH! LET ME GO! LET ME GO, GODDAMMIT!”
The medic goes flying backward out of the bus, landing on her heels and quick-stepping backward. Instinct takes over, and I lunge forward, catching her in my arms. For a split second, I’m just holding her. She’s equal parts taut and firm, lithe and soft, delicate and warm. And for that split second, she seems tempted to just…relax into my arm. Let me hold her.
A spark jolts through me, like I grabbed onto a live wire. My skin tingles, my hair stands on end, and my lungs seize, breath whooshing out of me.
I’m hard as a fucking diamond, behind my pants.
The split second is gone, and she’s rocketing out of my arms like she felt the shock as clearly as I did. She shakes herself like a dog shaking water off, storming forward with her fists clenched.
“That’s it, Mr. Wilson,” she grits out between clenched molars. “I told you.”
Mr. Wilson is a wiry old white guy, with a shock of hair that looks like he stuck his fingers in an electrical socket. He’s wigged the hell out, thrashing like a madman despite being restrained by the gurney straps. The other medic, the young Black man from earlier, is trying his damndest to hold the old man down, but it’s like trying to wrestle a wet horse.
I grab the sexy medic’s arm and hold her back. “Let me.”
“The fuck I will,” she snarls.
I’m already climbing up and into the bus, ignoring her protests. I latch onto the patient’s wrists and pin his thrashing feet to the gurney with my hips. I fix him with my you’re gonna listen like it or not glare, and make it clear no amount of thrashing is going to budge my iron grip.
“Cool the fuck off, old man.” I growl the command. I let go of one of his wrists, pinioning them both with one hand, and hold out my empty hand. “Needle.”
I feel the syringe slap into my palm.
“You got two options, here, pal.” I flick the cap off the needle and press the tip to the outside of his skinny little bicep. “One, you quit the tantrum and get yourself treated like a goddamn adult. Option two, I jab this shit into you, and I can’t guarantee how gentle I’ll be. You feel me?”
He stills, but his eyes snap with defiance. “Get off me.”
“Wrong answer.” I press the needle harder. “Last chance.”
“Fine, goddamnit, fine. That shit constipates me.”
I snicker. “Then quit acting like a child.”
“I don’t need no ambulance. I’m fuckin’ fine.”
The Black medic coughs a laugh. “You had a stroke two weeks ago and you just overdosed on Vicodin. You’re not fine.”
I blink. “How is he alive? Much less upright and pitching a tantrum?”
The medic shrugs. “Hell if I know. Bastard isn’t human.”
“I heard that you goddamn—”
I silence him with a glare. “You better not fucking finish saying what I think you’re about to say.”
He holds up his hands. “I wasn’t gonna say that. I ain’t no racist.”
“Get out of my bus,” a female voice says from behind me. 
I climb backward and out, turn to face a very pissed-off but still drop-dead sexy medic. “What’s his story?”
She just glares at me. “I didn’t ask for your help.”
“You’d be the one getting stitches if I hadn’t caught you.”
She just glares. “My bus, my patient.”
I hold up my hands. “Fine, sorry for nothing, then. Damn.”
She reaches for the syringe still in my hand. “Give me that.” She snatches it from me as I extend it to her. “You can’t threaten patients. Who the fuck trained you?”
“If the patient is acting a fool and risking the safety of the medics trying to help him, I sure as fuck can. I didn’t threaten him, anyway. Not with anything you weren’t about to do.”
She goes nose to nose with me—well, nose to collarbone, since she’s several inches shorter than me; her glare is impressively intimidating, but it’s somewhat undercut by the fact that as she sidles up and stands nose to nose with me, holding her ground and glaring fit to murder, her breasts press against my chest, and that’s all I can fucking think about.
“My bus,” she repeats, slowly, furiously, “my patient. Go back to your fire and your hoses and leave me the hell alone.”
I hold her gaze and try like hell to keep my eyes from wandering down to her generous, button-straining chest.
I fail.
Her hiss of disgust is…well, if it could be used as a weapon, I’d be dead.
She presses all five fingers of both hands into my chest and pushes me away, eyes stabbing murderous fury into mine. “Go…away.”
I back up slowly, holding her eyes. “You’re welcome.” I wink at her, shooting her the grin which, according to the guys at the station, is guaranteed to melt panties at fifty paces.
She growls like a cornered raccoon; her panties are decidedly not melted.
I hold up my hands palms out. “Damn, girl. Don’t shoot. I was just trying to help. It’s instinct.”
“Well take your instincts and fuck off.” She pivots away from me, heading toward her bus, where the Black medic is currently wrestling the gurney down, the patient still muttering imprecations under his breath.
Fuck, fuck, and double-fuck—the girl is all curves. If her tits were about to pop the buttons off her shirt, her ass is popping the seams of her uniform slacks. Not tall, maybe five-six, five-seven at most, she’s one hundred percent hot-as-fuck, mind-altering, cock-hardening, dead-sexy curves.
I don’t even try to not stare at her ass as she helps pull the gurney off the bus. I can’t not stare—it’s a biological imperative.
She stops and shoots a glare at me over her shoulder. “Quit staring at my ass.”
“I’m trying, I swear. Not my fault you’ve got an ass that don’t quit.”
There’s a muffled cough from her partner, and his eyes cut to mine, expressing amusement he dares not otherwise let her see. “We’d better get Mr. Wilson into treatment before the sheer stubbornness that’s keeping him alive wears off.” 
I finally manage to rip myself away from the sexy medic and her hypnotic ass. Head for my truck, climb behind the wheel, start the motor…and go nowhere.
She’s pushing from the back end while her partner pulls from the front—I just can’t resist one last long, lingering look as she vanishes inside.
“That is one hell of a woman,” I say out loud.
She hates me, but goddamn is she gorgeous. And honestly, the fiery fury of her is intoxicating. I don’t know her name, but I know I’ll be dreaming about her tonight.

​Big Hose is the new romantic book by Jasinda Wilder. In Big Hose, Jake is a career fireman; he is married to his job, works long and often strange hours, and would rush into any dangerous situation to help someone without a moment's notice. Jovi is a paramedic that Jake runs-into at a scene and is in insta-lust with immediately. When they run into each other again, Jovi does everything in her power to dissuade Jake's interest in her but she quickly puts up her walls when she finds out that he is a firefighter. Although the two try to stay away from each other, their attraction and chemistry wins and just when things start to get good, Jake gets called-out. Jovi pulls back when she starts to have feelings for Jake but then in an instant, she makes a choice that will affect their potential relationship.
Big Hose was funny, light-hearted and just a good romantic book. Jake is a dream character and then on top of that, he's a fireman. Jovi is sarcastic, funny, and the life of the party. Jake's and Jovi's chemistry is hot and reflected even hotter in Jasinda's writing. I loved this story and would absolutely love to read a story with Lia and Jose'.

Goodbye Never will have you swoony hard. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book. Lennon and Duke have been friends forever. Their moms and best friends and they were especially raised together. When Lennon goes to the snotty, private school and everyone makes fun of her, it's Duke who stands up and protects her. They are there for each other no matter what. Lennon has had a crush on Duke forever and thinks things might be changing but the next time she sees Duke, he is with another girl. Resigned just to be Duke's best friend, they soon begin their adult lives. Lennon goes to college close to home to help her mom and Duke joins the military to become a helicopter pilot. Duke continues to climb the military ladder and Lennon meets a nice man who loves her more than she (thinks) she loves him. but one trip home from Duke changes the trajectory of their lives. Who can Lennon always rely on? One word: Duke.
This story gave me all the feels! Duke was swoony and proved what a good man and friend he was to Lennon. Lennon really grew as a character throughout the book. And can we go back to Duke (heart eyes). This was an amazing book. Prescott really nailed-it on Goodbye Never. One of the best books I have read this year by far.
