I loved this book. In Mine to Take, Natasha brings her hockey world and wedding world together. Hockey Star Matthew Petrov is engaged. He didn't ask; it just sort of happened and it is now time to plan the wedding. Sophia Barnes is meeting with her first clients for a consultation for their wedding. Shocked is not the word to describe her feelings when in walks her first true love, Matthew Petrov. Sophia and Matthew pretend they don't know each other and continue the awkward meeting. Matthew is beside himself when his fiance' decides she had a connection with Sophia and she wants her to plan their big, extravagant wedding. Matthew is so confused. He has unresolved issues with Sophia and he doesn't know if he really wants to get married so he calls off the engagement. When he visits Sophia again to settle up with her for her previous time, he wants to sit down with her and talk. Sophia wants nothing to do with Matthew because she knows it wouldn't be hard to fall in love with him again, even though she may have never fallen out of it, to begin with. Soon begins a game of Matthew relentlessly popping in on Sophia because he has decided she is who he wants.
I loved this romance story! Matthew was cocky, persistent, and quite the dirty talker. Sophia might talk a good game but deep down she never really let Matthew go. The banter between the two main characters was funny, hot, and great to read. Even the secondary characters in the book (from Natasha's other series) were funny. This was a good book that sucked me right in. I read the book over a couple of hours in one evening.
Mine to Take can be read as a stand-alone.
