Synopsis
One little lie, one huge grudge, and one picture-perfect plan for revenge… Best Revenge, Book 2Blackmailed into a prom date by the cute but geeky Dexter Black twelve years ago, Maya Werner shocked herself by having a good time. For a strong-willed, hot-tempered artist who’s used to having the upper hand, that’s never sat well with her.
At weekly wine night with her friends, Maya finds herself pledging to get revenge on the men who’ve done her wrong—starting with Dex. Except the Marine Corps transformed the nerd into a hot, sexy guy with the audacity to blackmail her again. This time into a few dates.
Dex is back in town with one goal in mind: to win the girl of his dreams. But he knows how she operates. His strategy? Keep her off balance by running hot and cold until she melts into the passion between them.
When a misunderstanding stokes old hurts, Maya backs away when she should stand her ground. But Dex has a contingency plan: pour on the charm with both barrels, until he has his own form of revenge—loving Maya, forever.
Warning: Blackmailing a stubborn, hot-tempered artist into bed, and an ex-Marine who has a penchant for taking pictures. Yeah, those kinds of pictures.

It can be read as a read alone or as part of the series. I read Served Cold, the first book of the Revenge Series and I felt that it helped me to know what was going on in the overall story.
Served Hot focuses on clay artist Maya. Maya is a spit-fire that has built a wall around her heart after seeing her heart-broken dad after her mother left him years ago. She would rather find random hook-ups or have short-term relationships. She says that she is "not a long-term relationship girl." Now enter Dex. Dex was a big nerd in high school and scrawny. He blackmailed Maya into going to prom with him their senior year and although she did have fun, that was end of it for her. Unfortunately, Dex has never gotten over Maya. Dex has now returned to him home town after joining the Marines and traveling around the world taking his now famous photographs. Dex has his sights set on Maya.
Dex is lucky enough to be around Maya when she takes care of a certain, bitchy problem. Since it worked so well before, Dex once again blackmails Maya into giving him 10 dates after witnessing Maya's solution to the problem. Maya fights her feelings for Dex and begins to fall in love with him while dealing with her relationship misgivings along the way.
I enjoyed Served Hot. The chemistry between Dex and Maya is off-the-charts. Dex is a former Marine, now has an uber-hot body, super-nice, and all alpha male. This deadly combonation is exactly what Maya needs to whip her into shape. The banter between Dex and Maya was well-written and enjoyable to read. I was able to read Served Hot over a couple of hours one evening. Served Hot had a HEA and I am looking forward to reading the third book in Best Revenge Series. I would definitely recommend this 5 Star book.
